Benjamin Benson stumbles through everyday doldrums with a cockeyed outlook on his life and career. When Ben’s boss at Arkema Corp. sends him to present the annual report at the company’s national conference at a hotel in Walla Walla, not all goes as planned.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Hotel was written during the weary and delirious AM hours that followed endless days of post-production on Before the Snow. After spending so much time immersed in a dark and emotionally demanding feature, I think I needed to write something strange, funny, and a little unhinged.
The story is ridiculousness incarnate—an attempt to explore contrasting themes while paying an obscure homage to the films, music, and artists that have inspired me. I embraced the absurdity rather than trying to explain it, creating a world that is familiar enough to recognize but increasingly bizarre as Benjamin’s trip begins to unravel. More than anything, Hotel gave me an opportunity to shake off the weight of Before the Snow, experiment with a very different tone, and make something that didn’t take itself too seriously.
